Welcome to #276 of Original Comic Art Tips! Next week I’ll have to make the final decision on the new software to send this newsletter from, migrate everything and learn how to use it. I’ll try not to miss a week, but if at the end of January you still haven’t heard from me (and you find nothing in the spam folder) I may have lost your address in transit, so write me at francesco (dot) brisighelli (at) gmail (dot) com!

Heritage Signature Auction: the highest price is a personal surprise, a Darby O’Gill page by Alex Toth was sold for $7,2k. I’m forced to consider myself a retired Toth collector. I bought pages on eBay for 15 years in the $300/700 range, the last one in November 2019 ($190!), then everything changed very quickly. I guess I’m happy that I own a Darby page, bought on eBay in 2014, prehistoric times.
$6,6k for a Russ Heath page, a Terry strip by Caniff and a Wrightson splash, a beautiful Sunday by Rea Irvin for $2,9k, a What If? Conan page by Buscema for $2,1k, a very rare Sunday by H.T. Webster for $1,3k.
Very good deals on comic strips, a two page strip by Gluyas Williams went for only $700 at Bruneau, their international payment rules were too strict, so I couldn’t bid. Some Alley Oop dailies from 1940 at Kraft, this one went for $275, this one for $170, this one for $90.

Some Peanuts strips with low starting prices (they won’t stay there long), a 1963 daily, a 1982 Sunday and a 1986 daily.
Many illustration lots, with Vallejo, Jones and many others.
See you (I hope!) next week!
