$1k for a commission of The Boys by Russ Braun, $1k for a Thunderbolts cover by Mark Bagley. The Namor page by John Byrne stayed low at $700, maybe because as I suspected it is one of those pages photocopied on DuoTone paper to add greytones? Low $750 for a Hagar Sunday by Dik Browne.
A reader made me notice that the Dale Keown cover was really a print listed as original art, it went low at $2,5k, but a dealer at the same time has the original for sale at $6k.
Usually fake sketches end below what the real original art would go for, this time the 100% fake Yellow kid sketch went for $5,2k, but don’t worry, it is for sale again.
Speaking of fake sketches, the Charlie Brown sold last week for $1,8k and quickly put for sale again is ending tonight and it seems to stay lower… Meanwhile, the forger is ready for the next auctions: yesterday he posted on a Facebook group purposely blurry pictures of Batman sketches freshly drawn (by him), probably with the intent of legitimizing them.
Heritage Weekly Auction: $11k for a Legion page by Giffen, $7k for Blade Runner by Williamson, very high $6k for the Hulk page by Trimpe, $5k for the page by Alex Toth, $4,5k for the JLA page by Jim Lee. High prices for Golden Age pages, this one went for $3,8k, $3k for a Spidey page by Sal Buscema, $3k for the Batman prelim by Alex Ross, $2k for the Spidey splash by Saviuk.
Catawiki: €850 for a Chic Bill page by Tibet, €500 for an Axa page by Romero.
Septimus Auction: €9k for the Blueberry page, €4k for a cover prelim by Vance, €3k for a top page by Ledroit, €1,9k for the Liberatore page, €1,7k for a Marsupilami sketch by Franquin.
Hero Initiative Charity Auction: Incredible $20k for the Thor piece by Walt Simonson, $6k for the Hela cover by J. Scott Campbell, a little less for the Bloom County daily, $3,2k for the Batman pinup by Kelley Jones, a commission of this quality would go for less than half this price, $3k for Conan by Mark Schultz, $2,8k for a Superman sketch by Frank Quitely, $2,6k for a cover quality X-Men piece by Nick Bradshaw, $2k for a Swamp Thing illustration by Rick Veitch, $1,6k for Don Rosa, his commissions always go for two times the price he would ask you.
Good deals: $600 for a Robin piece by Gene Ha, $800 for a Darth Vader by Greg Hildebrandt, $1,8k for a Green Lantern cover by Kevin Nowlan.
