Comiclink Featured Auction
I arrived in time for the next CL auction… But there’s so much great comic art that I should have started last week and done a two part review. You should really go and browse the entire auction yourself.
The earlier top piece is this 1941 Captain Marvel page by C.C. Beck, then a pre-hero Marvel page by Ditko, a Namor title splash by Colan, a Namor page by Everett. The top Don Heck piece is this Avengers title splash, but I couldn’t leave off this Iron-Man page. Same with Kirby, many top pieces with a Captain America DPS, but my favorite is this Namor page. Early Sgt. Rock page by Kubert, a Spider-Man cover by Romita.
A Batman page by Neal Adams, many John Buscema pages, here’s a Fantastic Four title splash, and here’s one by Perez, many pages by Sal, here’s a classic Nova, a complete Haunted Tank story by Heath, a Thor cover by Kane, a rare Thor page by Simonson.
An X-Men page by Art Adams, but look also at this cover prelim, a nice Fantastic Four page by Byrne, a beautiful Sandman DPS by Kieth, Cloak&Dagger by Leonardi, some McLeod pages from the 1st appearance of the New Mutants, a Batman splash by Newton, Moon Knight by Sienk.
Three top Spidey trading card illustrations by Bagley, an Avengers illustration by Frenz, X-Men by Andy Kubert, X-Force by Liefeld, Thanos by Lim, Spider-Man original art by Todd McFarlane, a Witchblade page by Turner, a Batman page by Tim Sale.
Look: finally a great X-Men page by Joe Mad.
A Storm splash by Bachalo, an X-Men cover by Bradshaw, an Elektra cover by Campbell, a DPS by Greg Land, a TWD #1 page by Tony Moore, an Invincible cover by Ottley, a Batman/Superman cover by Jim Lee.
A good selection of strips, for once: a Peanuts daily, a 1950 Superman Sunday by Boring, a 1989 Opus, a 1972 Prince Valiant page, a Star Wars daily by Manning, a Bringing Up Father Sunday.
See you next week!!
