Welcome! A regular summer week, with not much going on, but still there are a few nice pieces and some high sales.

Original Comic Art Auction Results

eBay: $10k for a Star Wars page by Scott Hepburn, advertised as an early Ahsoka appearance. $5k for three pieces by pioneers Outcault, Opper and Mayes, $4k (Best Offer) for a Graham Ingels EC page, $6,5k for the early Dennis the Menace panel ($1k less than the first try), $3,5k for a Michael Zulli Wake splash.

$2,8k (B.O.) for a Marvel Girls pinup by Bruce Timm, $2,9k for a nice Batgirl pinup by Frank Cho, $2,8k for the Alpha Flight page by John Byrne, $1,7k and $800 (great deal) for the Batman pages by Norm Breyfogle, $1,5k for a rare Spider-Man page by Mike Mignola.

Heritage Weekly Auction: unlikely $29k record price for Nick Cardy, with this Batman page, covers were selling for $15k until yesterday, let’s see if prices will be retouched. $11k for this cover to The Question by Denys Cowan, $7k for the top Spidey DPS by Alex Saviuk, I get this cover by Dan Jurgens is from a run beloved by Superman fans, but for $4k you only got a pair of well drawn glasses. $3k for a DP7-DPS by Paul Ryan, $1,9k was not high for this Wonder Woman commission by Adam Hughes. $500 seems very low for a perfect Gene Colan Dracula page from an early issue… if only it hadn’t been given to Vince Colletta.

Catawiki: €3,5k for the Uncle Scrooge page by Don Rosa, €700 for the Disney page by Cavazzano, €4,5k for the page by Pellerin, €2,5k for the Rahan cover by Cheret, €2k for the page by Vance, €1k for the Delaby page, €1k for the Juillard illustration, €2,2k for the Sempé sketch, €300 for Alan Ford by Magnus, €250 for Tex by Ticci, €350 for the Blek cover by Mastantuono.

Comiclink Auctions: so, last week the website was not working. I read on facebook groups that it was hacked, don’t know if it’s true, but it looks like a 1998 website, I wouldn’t be surprised if it also had the security level of a 1998 website…
Top price for the premium session was $5k for a Thanos page by Ron Lim, $4k for a 7 page complete early DC story by Michael Golden, $4k for a Galactus splash by Alan Davis, $3,5k for a cover by J. Scott Campbell, $2k for a nice Moon Knight page by Texeira, $2k for a top Fantastic Four page by Paul Ryan, $2k for a Captain America page by Mike Zeck, $1k for a Spirit sketch drawn by Eisner for Stan Lee.

Marvel: top piece of the week is an illustration by Peach Momoko venomized by Adi Granov, a Captain America page by Sal Buscema, a Galactus sketch by Walt Simonson, early ’90s Uncanny X-Men page by Tom Raney, a Punisher page by Tom Lyle, a nice Spidey page by JRJR, a Black Cat commission by Greg Land, a Captain America sketch by George Perez.

This Spidey page by Adam Kubert went unsold months ago with a high price, now they’ve lowered it enough.

DC: Green Lantern by Tuska, a Batman page by Paul Gulacy, early Hellblazer art by Steve Pugh, World’s Finest by RB Silva.

A nice Cerebus page, a DragonBall Z pinup by Gabriele Dell’Otto, a remarked Invincible print by Ryan Ottley, a top X9 daily by Bob Lubbers, another set of Jeff MacNelly cartoons ending soon, a B.C. Sunday, a Cul De Sac Sunday, a Wizard of ID daily.

Heritage Weekly Auction

Marvel: a Fantastic Four storyboard by Jack Kirby, Dr. Strange by Isherwood, Silver Surfer cover by Nick Bradshaw, a Spidey cover by Saviuk.

DC: a Hawkman cover by Graham Nolan.

Some He-Man mini comic pages by Alcala, early Madman art by Allred, a very funny Hate page by Bagge, a Shadowhawk page by Valentino, two Casey Ruggles strips and a Rip Kirby strip by Raymond.

A Necron model sheet by Magnus, a Tex page by Buzzelli, Dylan Dog by Nicola Mari, a Disney page by Gottardo, a color pinup by Alessandro Barbucci.

A remarked Spidey comic by John Romita, pages by Juan Gimenez, Alcatena and two nice ones by Carlos Roume.

Comiclink Auction

A cover quality Spidey commission by Ron Frenz, an Iron Fist splash by Butch Guice, some X-Men pages by Larroca, a top Spidey page by Olliffe, a Spidey splash by Alex Saviuk, Black Panther by Sal Velluto.

World’s Finest by Murphy Anderson, Batman by Breyfogle, Batman by Don Newton, a Batman page by Mike Parobeck.

A couple page from a 1989 Catwoman mini by J.J. Birch are going high, there are three pages of Andy Owens inks over Bagley Spider-Man bluelines that are going very high.

Kirby animation drawings: everybody wants Robo-Hitler, Captain Lightning is also nice.

Then the usual five pages of commissions, with a few gems here and there: a 1991 Spidey sketch by Bagley is going high, a 1979 Iron-Man by Perez, Conan by Jusko, a beautiful Thalia painting by Stelfreeze.

Heritage Matt Baker Auction

Not many original art pages in this auction, this is probably the best one, but if you have time go and look at the comic book covers drawn by Baker in this auction. This one is also funny.
