Issue #10
This is the 10th week of the Original Comic Art Tips newsletter. Not much to highlight this week, remember to look at the original art dealers’ websites, they’re starting to discount a lot of art for Christmas time, some results of last week tips are the Joe Mad X-Men page on Ebay that made more than $1.000 despite being a difficult page drawn on two boards, the Terry Gilliam painting went for $4.300 on HA and the Paul Pope art sold for $1.200 and the Billy DeBeck daily strip for $1.000.
Hellboy Original Art By Mike Mignola
This week on eBay
A slow week on Ebay… last week I had to edit out a lot of nice art for space purposes, this time I noticed only three interesting pieces: a funny Spiderman Sunday strip with Spidey and Daredevil Vs. Kingpin by the classic/current team of Stan Lee, Alex Saviuk and Joe Sinnott, a Hellboy in Hell interior page by Mike Mignola with HB appearing in 4 panels and a dense John Buscema Thor page inked again by the great Joe Sinnott.
Heritage Sunday Auction
Many Jose Delbo Wonder Woman pages went on auction on HA lately, Delbo is not so regarded today but drew with a classic style very suited for the material, this splash has a big WW profile shot. Johnny Hazard dailies by Frank Robbins are always good. Look at this huge image of Mandy by Dean Yeagle at 20″x26″ (50×70 cm.) you can hang an original that looks like a poster. Everybody knows that Michael Kaluta is a great artist, I never highlighted the many pages of The Unwritten sold lately on HA, but this one is not only great but has a self portrait of the artist at his table.
Little Nemo 49th Original Art Auction
