eBay: $11k for the R. Crumbback cover (it was briefly put for sale again though).
$6k for a ’90s X-men splash by Whilce Portacio, $3,4k for the Thor cover by Ryan Ottley, $3k for a page by Jamie Hewlett, $2,8k (Best Offer) for a Ult. Spidey DPS by Bagley, $2,1k for the Hulk page by Carlo Pagulayan.
Heritage Weekly Auction: $15k for the Wrightsonillustration, less than $4k for the X-Men page by JRJR, more than $2k for this Garfield daily, don’t start a bidding war over one of the thousands available, just wait a week and buy one for $500… $2k for a romance page by Pike, $1,8k for a Pogo Sunday.
Catawiki: €3k for the Crepaxillustration, €400 for a pinup by Marini, €550 for the Tex by Laura Zuccheri, €400 for the Salgarone illustration by Jacovitti, €350 for a Daredevil commission by Colan.
Huberty Breyne: €150k for a (non Tintin related) cover by Hergé, €90k is a great price for a post Goscinny Asterix page, €70k for a top Johan page by Peyo, look at this beautiful Jean Giraudillustration, sold for €60k, a Moebiuspage for €48k, €45k for a Ranxerox cover by Liberatore, €30k for a Schuitencover.
Alexander Historical Auctions: some big collections of comic strips and specialty pieces sold for very low prices. This set was the top one, with Rube Goldberg, H.T. Webster and more great names, sold for only $320, another set with big names went for $280, a set of 11 published dailies went for $240, half the value of the B.C. strip it included, this set sold for $220 included a rare Wally Walgren strip, this set, sold for $140 included a Little Annie Rooney Sunday.
Andres, a Comic Art Tips reader, sent me this video from his Youtube channel, he went to film the incredible Alex Raymond original art collection owned by a comic artist.
Apart from the very interesting examination of the art and drawing style, there are many close ups of the art, it really seems to hold the pages in your hands.
