Original Comic Art Auction Results
eBay: the price for the Venom title page by Mark Bagley started going up when two zero feedback users began sending bids, it was sold for $6,4k.
A Batman Who Laughs page by Jock went for $2,7k, the page by Jeremy Bastian for $1,7k, a Red Sonja page by Frank Thorne for $1,3k, an X-Factor page by Jae Lee for $1k.
A Frank page by Woodring went for a Best Offer lower than $2,1k, a sketched Scrooge book by Don Rosa for $1,4k, a remarked Hellboy Artist’s Edition by Mignola for $1k.
Heritage Weekly Auction: another very high price for Batman art by Tim Sale, with $17k paid for this half splash. Joe Kubert art is also growing, highest price paid was $6,6k for this Hawkman page, but they all went pretty high.
I’m officially outpriced on Alex Toth art… in the last 15+ years, I bought and sold many pieces, now I guess I should be happy with what I have. The 1978 calendar illustration went for a very surprising $7k, the title page for $5,5k, the page I wanted to bid on for $4,4k exactly two times what I was expecting.
A page from the New Frontier by Darwin Cooke without any costumed characters went for $5,5k. Other prices to notice are $3,3k for this X-Men page by Marc Silvestri, $1,7k for an X-Men page by Stuart Immonen, consider these went for $600 last time I checked. $1,2k seems a lot for a 2017 X-Men page by Mark Bagley.
Catawiki: €2,8k for the Corto strip by Hugo Pratt, a second one went for €2,7k, €2k for the Sgt. Kirk page, €1,3k for the Junglemen page, the model sheet by Magnus for €1,3k, the Cocco Bill page by Jacovitti for €1,6k, the page by Alberto Breccia for €1,3k. The page by Sergio Toppi for €900.
ComicLink: not many surprises, this time… a Fantastic Four page by John Buscema went for $18k, this J. Scott Campbell Inhumans cover with its huge Stan Lee signature went for $8k, the Spidey/Daredevil page by Mark Bagley for $6,6k, the Punisher cover by Tim Bradstreet for $3,9k, the Wolverine page by Texeira for the same price, a Miles Morales page by Sara Pichelli for $2,6k, the Y the Last Man title page for $2,9k, the rare Catwoman page by Jim Balent for $1,6k.
$600 is a good price for a DPS with dozens of characters by Mark Bagley, with $300 you could have bought this very nice page by Lee Bermejo, $200 is not bad for a Superman page by Stuart Immonen.
